Today, by comparison, we shift our focus to the A4's smaller stablemate, the 2017 Audi S3. And though looks can definitely be deceiving, make no mistake -- this sedan's performance chops are second to none:
A quick peek beneath the S3's bonnet will reveal the star of the show: its turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.
Mated to a six-speed dual-clutch "S tronic" gearbox and the quattro® all-wheel-drive platform, this four-banger boasts a burly 292 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. Similarly, the S3's 0-to-60 mph sprint time is among the best in its segment, as it's able to get there in a flat-out feverish 4.6 seconds.
